Dan receives another award
This one was the ITV award for Best Young Talent of the Year.
While he couldn't make it to personally accept the award, he was taped at the set of Goblet of Fire, and had this to say:
"I'm absolutely thrilled to have won this Young Talent of the Year award. Thank you very much to everyone who voted for me. Unfortunately I can't be with you tonight as I am filming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the moment, but I hope you will all enjoy that when it comes out next year. Thank you again and I hope you are all having a great night."
For screencaps, the eastiest viewing is at Veritaserum.

Report at HPANA
HPANA got a set report from someone who claimed to be an extra on the Hogwarts Express shoot. They had this to say on it...
I live in Scotland and over the weekend I was fortunate enough to be one of those 100 students who were used as extras when Harry Potter 4 were filming at the Glenfinnan Viaduct. It was like a dream come true for such an avid Harry Potter fan like me.
Unfortanately Dan [Radcliffe], Rupert [Grint] and Emma [Watson] weren't there. Instead, they had three doubles, which was still cool. I was able to talk to them for a bit. They seemed really nice. I think the Harry double said that his name was Ryan, the Ron double's name was Ricky. I remember that because I remember him joking that the knitted "R" on his Weasley jumper really stood for Rickie and not Ron -- ha ha. Hermione double's name was Jo and she was like 24 but she still looked like Emma. They said that they were staying in a hotel in nearby Fort William and that Dan, Rupert and Emma were filming a different scene down in London.

Sad times for Devon
Our heart-felt sympathies go out to Devon Murray, who lost his dog to an ignorant and thoughtless motorist passing by his home today.
Devon reported on his site, his great upset at the loss of his dog Daragh due to the carelessness of a speeding passer-by.

J.K. Rowling up for more fund raising
Ever generous, the author has given a special original miniature book for an auction to go for the homeless, a Charity organization 999club
The Leaky Cauldron had this to say on it:
From the information that we received, this is a signed, leather bound manuscript by J.K. Rowling. It is said to be about 30 pages in length, containing a handwritten description of what Harry needs to bring to Hogwarts. This mini-book is also said to include 9 sketches, including ones of broomsticks and Harry's famous spectacles.
JK said: "I support the club because of the way it works - supporting people from the local community, run by people from the local community, open to all."
The auction will take place on November 1st at Sotheby's in London, England. For information, contact Fiona Kent 020 7152 3600 regarding tickets and catalogues.

Nothing like Family
Well, we've all had that one (or possibly two) in the family. The one we wished was Not. The one that embarasses the rest. So it seems J.K. Rowling is just like the rest of us. Only she's lucky enough for hers to be in the paper. This was written in Contact Music:
JK ROWLING's cousin BEN is furious the HARRY POTTER author refuses to admit he was the inspiration for the schoolboy wizard or give him any of the $774 million (GBP430 million) she made from the books and films.
BEN, 37, was "inseparable" from the multi-millionaires writer while he was growing up, and insists he's the basis for her infamous character, debunking Rowling's claim she came up with the idea while stuck on a delayed train from Manchester to London.
He says, "When I read the first Harry Potter book, my jaw dropped. It was uncanny, far more than a coincidence. I know Jo based Harry on me. I can see so much of the young me in his character.
"We used to spend the weekends swapping stories of boarding school life. She was always fascinated about what I had been up to at school and used to love me telling her about the scrapes and escapades I had been involved in.
"Jo and I were inseparable and even today people stop me and tell me I look just like Harry Potter."
Teenage pictures of Ben reveal an uncanny resemblance to the actor DANIEL RADCLIFFE who plays Potter on the big screen.
Looks like poor Mrs. Rowling will have another one to add up into her 'Rubbish Bin' as soon as she gets to it. And in the meantime, please keep in mind, that even if she has seen you for a moment in your lifetime, be rest assured, that most likely, a character will Not form of it, and therefore, you will not have any rights to the authors' well earned and deserved money.

Hogwarts Express giving locals problems
Filming had to be done on the Glenfinnan Viaduct, near Fort William this weekend; which caused many locals who were to take the train, to be transported via busses. The Hogwarts Express was to have its' filming once again done, and had already reserved the tracks for their shots. Fifty thousand pounds was the price paid to have this access, and
ScotRail cancelled the last trains from Mallaig to Fort William yesterday and today.
Many locals were angered by this move, however, a good 100 teens were quickly 'enrolled' as extras, to be apart of the Hogwarts Express experience; as sequences were shot on the line and at the viaduct.

Another report from Jamie
Jamie dropped in another note at his site today. This time speaking on deleted scenes and such from the upcoming PoA release in DVD. He had this to say:
The launch of the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD is coming soon and I cant wait.Even though I have seen the film a dozen times at the movies, there is so much going on, you miss lots of things.I really like seeing the interviews, the "extras" and the "deleted" scenes that are included. With a DVD, you can stop, rewind, pause etc. and really see the detail (and the mistakes) that make the films so special. So much of the Polyjuice scene with Josh and myself was cut out of the film, it was great to see again on the DVD.I must say at this point, I honestly don't know what deleted scenes will be in the DVD, so much of the filming that we do is cut, but if every scene that was filmed was put in, the DVD would be about 8 hours long! One of the scenes that was not in the film that I really enjoyed and hope is included, was Devon Murray; (Seamus Finnigan) in Professor Lupin's class where he changed a vampire (Devon's boggart) into a woman in a bikini, (my mum said she was like Carmen Miranda)Professor Lupin starts playing music and she starts dancing, then everybody starts dancing in a conga line.I joined in the conga line, but Malfoy gets angry with me and he hits me, it was a very funny scene!

Yet more unfounded rumors put to rest
I know, who would have thought, in this day and age, rumors gone amock? Hard to believe I know. As is though, CBBC was able to put another rumor down to rest. This one, being that Rowling had set a release date, and that an HP fansite was kind enough to claim they'd heard some had been printed? They were kind enough to not name names, but here's what they had to say on the subject:
'Rumours that J K Rowling has agreed a publishing date for the sixth Harry Potter adventure are not true.
A fansite claimed to have been told that some of the book had already been printed, and that an announcement was not far off.
But CBBC Newsround has been in contact with JK's agents and they categorically denied all aspects of the rumour.
They added that she was busy, happily writing away and for up-to-date info fans should check her website.
J K Rowling herself indicated at the Edinburgh Book Festival in August that she was about half way through the book.'
Here's to 'creative writing'? Or something like that anyhow. ;)
Stay tuned for all the NEWS at HP4U. ;)

HP makes a different kind of list
We all love hearing how our favorite books (Harry Potter of course) keep making a new list. Favorite childrens' book, favorite adventure book, best-sellers' list. But now it's managed to make a different sort of list. This one? The top ten most 'challenged books' at the libraries. Sound a little odd? We all know that many books, including the Harry Potter series, get some of the less intelligent people of society trying to claim that it is actually bad or harmful for children and young people to read. But now there's been a list created. And where does Harry Potter come in? Second, according to a study by the American Library Association. This is the findings they put up:
Books most frequently challenged in 2003 at the nation's libraries
1. Phyllis Reynolds Naylor's "Alice" series, for sexual content, using offensive language and being unsuited to age group.
2. J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, for its focus on wizardry and magic.
3. "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck, for offensive language.
4. "Arming America: The Origins of a National Gun Culture" by Michael Bellesiles, for inaccuracy.
5. "Fallen Angels" by Walter Dean Myers, for racism, sexual content, offensive language, drugs and violence.
6. "Go Ask Alice" by Anonymous, for depictions of illicit drugs.
7. "It's Perfectly Normal" by Robie Harris, for homosexuality, nudity, sexual content and sex education.
8. "We All Fall Down" by Robert Cormier, for offensive language and sexual content.
9. "King and King" by Linda de Haan, for homosexuality.
10. "Bridge to Terabithia" by Katherine Paterson, for offensive language and depictions of the occult and satanism.
It truly is a shame to see such ignorance running wild when people try and ban such books as Of Mice and Men; but here's to hoping there will always be enough people with common sense and willing to speak out. Don't forget to celebrate Banned Books Week!

No Percy??
That's the way it seems anyhow. Chris Rankin did an update today on his blog about his appearance (or lack of) in The Goblet of Fire. This is what he had to say:
"Hey muppets! As I make a point of telling people the honest truth about things, I've got an update on Harry Potter...Having been speaking to my agent about why I've not heard anything from Warner Brothers re Goblet of Fire, they've been making some enquiries into the legal side of not being used on the film, when I've been contracted to it... Turns out that my contract states that I was contracted to appear in Prisoner of Azkaban +1 more HP film - it doesn't have to be the next in the series (as we'd all presumed) - what this basically means is that we're unlikely to be seeing Percy in Goblet of Fire, but that doesn't mean that he won't be in another film along the lines of the series... but we might not!"
Well, I for one will be sorry to not get the chance to see one of our favorite 'elite', uptight, non-rule bender in the upcoming movie. But he also said that he's going to be Quite busy till at Least the end of March. So it sounds like he could use this break. And as he stated, we'll Definitely be seeing him again, as it is in his contract. There's no doubt we'll be seeing him in Order of the Phoenix.

Thinking of Order of the Phoenix already?
Apparently, you wouldn't be the only one. However, CBBC just put this out on their site on the fifth movie to be made:
It's far to early to try and apply for parts in the fifth Harry Potter movie, according to film makers Warner Bros.
The Order of the Phoenix was published in June 2003, and introduced several new characters including Ravenclaw student Luna Lovegood.
But the film's producers have urged people not to write in to try to apply for any parts.
A spokesperson told CBBC Newsround: "We've only just started production on the fourth film."
He added: "As for the next movie, it's far too early to think about casting.
"We don't have a script, director, start date or casting director and no one will be considered for any role until all these are in place.
"We don't want children to be disappointed, so we're asking them not to write into the studios. It would be a waste of their time."
Warner Bros. also told us that there's no point in trying to write in to be an extra in Goblet of Fire, as they're usually found through local schools or special agencies.

Celebrate Banned Books Week!!
Banned Books Week, Sept. 20 through 27, will mark the occasion when we will celebrate the freedom to read, one of our most precious democratic freedoms; one we should not take for granted.Since 1990, the American Library Association has recorded more than 7,000 book challenges (a written complaint requesting that a book be removed from library shelves or school curriculum), and this is estimated to be only one-quarter of challenges reported and recorded. It is thanks to the commitment of librarians, teachers, parents and students that most challenges are unsuccessful.Among the books challenged were: "Huckleberry Finn", by Mark Twain; "The Harry Potter Series", by J. K. Rowling - the most banned series in recent times (What began with the religious right has spread to the politically correct); "The Catcher in the Rye", by J. D. Salinger; "Where's Waldo?", by Martin Hanford, and Maya Angelou's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings".
People want to ban or burn books for many diverse reasons. For example, church leaders of a Lewiston, Maine, Christian group protested the Harry Potter books by asking for a permit for a book burning. They felt the books "encouraged witchcraft, occult practices and rebelliousness among children." The Fire Department refused the permits so the Jesus Group held a "book cutting."
You see, censors don't want you exposed to ideas different than their own. If every individual or group had their way, library shelves would be empty; TV might become a thing of the past; CDs would disappear from the sales shelves, and movies probably would never be made. You might be amazed at the books which people or groups have tried to ban. "Tom Sawyer" (too full of racially charged language); "Alice in Wonderland" (animals should not use human language). Then there are the "family friendly" Bibles that appeared around 1830 which had passages excised that were considered to be indelicate.
The Butler Eagle in Pennsylvania reported that on one Sunday evening, the Harvest Assembly of God Church sang songs as they burned books, videos and CDs they judged to be "offensive to their God."
Whether or not a book or CD or movie is inappropriate for their children is a matter of personal choice. If you don't like it, don't read it, don't listen to it or don't watch it - but don't dictate what others can or cannot do.
Judy Blume, whose childrens' books have been the victim of censorship for years, said it best when she wrote "But it is not just the books under fire now that worry me. It is the books that will never be written. The books that will never be read. And all due to the fear of censorship. As always, young readers will be the real losers."
Censorship grows out of fear, and because fear is contagious, people are easily swayed. Banning of books, CDs, movies, TV shows satisfies their need to feel in control. They want to believe that if you don't read, see or hear about it, you won't know about it. And if you won't know about it, it won't happen.

PoA up for 'Best Action Award'
Seventeen is having its' annual awards. And Prisoners of Azkaban is in there for Best Action Movie. I went there to vote, and was actually surprised by a few things. Some of the questions definitely aren't your typical ones, such as.."Only male actor you would leave your boyfriend for". I gotta say, That was a tough one! All in all, definitely worth a look.
If you'd like to go vote for the latest HP movie in this, go VOTE!

Rowling up for another reward?

Rowling Strikes Back!
This has Got to be her best idea for her site yet! At her site, J.K.Rowling , she now has a 'Rubbish Bin'. What is it? Exactly as it says. It is a place to find all and any 'inaccuracies' about her, her books, or anything related to either. She actually has put it pretty kindly, but the truth is, there IS a lot of 'rubbish' from the who knows how many rumor mongers on the internet. And this is her hopes at setting what's fact and what's, well, Not. Be sure to check it out! Look for the gum wrapper next to the the coffee cup (Extra Stuff).
Also, be sure to break the pen on the left side, to reveal a new hunt. ;)

WB and all its' glory
Well, looks like they've been up to the same old tricks again. This time, their threats reach the British Touring company- British Tours. Why've they had WB in a frenzy over the last 16 months? It turns out, that British Tours has one tour, in which they refer to 'Harry Potter Locations Tour'. This tour goes over many sites that were used in the filming of the three Harry Potter movies. Such as Oxford University, Gloucester's Norman cathedral, Lacock Abbey, London Zoo, King's Cross station, and London's Leadenhall Market and Australia House on the Strand. All places that were used in the filmings.
WB of course, sees this as an infringement upon their rights. Stating such things as "You are... offering 'Harry Potter Location Tours' [that] infringe our client's rights," "deceiving customers". There was a "clear case of passing off of our clients' goodwill leading to a likelihood of substantial damage".
The explanation as to how the tour was causing actual damage to Warner Brothers is this: "A number of operators have previously run tours associated with Harry Potter. When these have been postponed or cancelled, there have been complaints," argued one of the letters. "Such complaints inevitably impact upon our clients and the Harry Potter brand."
Warner Brothers continues to argue this point, with a lawyer from the company's IP department telling us: "This is a blatant misuse of our trademark. British Tours is using our rights in a commercial manner." Warner Brothers is only seeking to "protect fans", we were told.
To back up this point, the spokeswoman referred to a previous "Harry Potter" tour that went wrong and resulted in newspaper headlines such as "Hogwarts' Hogwash". Warner Brothers, she told us, received letters complaining about the incident.
Understanably, Warner Brothers said: "We are not asking them to stop the tour, just to rename it," the spokeswoman told us. "And to put up a notice to say that it is an unofficial tour." It has requested that British Tours change its "Harry Potter tour" to "Tour of Locations used in the Harry Potter films" and add a disclaimer that the tour is "not approved or endorsed by or otherwise connected with Warner Bros or JK Rowling".
Seems not to much to ask, right? However, British Tours speaks of a far less reasonable approach, however. After a year of letters, faxes and phonecalls, Warner Brothers' lawyers said it would consider not bringing an interim injunction against the company if it showed its goodwill. British Tours felt that the need to pay the lawyers £1,500 to reflect this goodwill was too much. It refused and stated quite clearly: "If your client decides to issue proceedings against us we shall be applying for a strikeout and for damages and costs resulting from such an attempted abuse of court processes."
The question I'm wondering however, is J.K. Rowling even Aware of all these such cases that are claimed "In the name of our client"??

Harry topping charts?
I know, like that's news, right? Well, for those interested (and those not!), Box Office Mojo has put out their report on the top 100 all time movies (based on world-wide grosses).
And the great news? All three Harry Potter films are on the top 15! Surprisingly, the first, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone made more than the more recent two. Coming in at #3 with $976.5M
The second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets registered at #7 with $876.7M, and the this years' release, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban making it to #15 with $780.9M
Absolutely stunning figures, just going to show Harry Potter is obviously around to stay.
For the full chart, please go to Box Office Mojo.

HARRY POTTER MAGIC COMES TO SEAFORD
The latest Harry Potter blockbuster is being filmed in Seaford today.
Film company Warner Bros chose the town's picturesque downland to serve as one of the backdrops in the fourth movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Film crews will be filming at the Seven Sisters, Beachy Head and countryside surrounding Seaford from Wednesday lunchtime through to Thursday evening. Warner Bros was supposed to be arriving on Monday, but filming had to be scrapped due to poor weather. Unfortunately, as the downland views are being used as backdrops, none of the actors will be coming to Seaford for the filming.Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire follows the Philosopher's Stone, the Chamber of Secrets and the Prisoner of Azkaban in the series of films adapted from JK Rowling's novels. The previous films were all smash hits and raked in millions of pounds across the world. The latest movie is being directed by Mike Newell, who helmed Four Weddings and A Funeral, and the screenplay is being penned by Steve Kloves, who adapted the first three books. The Goblet of Fire, which is set for release in November 2005, sees Harry selected as an under-age competitor in a dangerous multi-wizardry school competition.Filming started in April and other locations across the UK include Gloucester Cathedral, Alnwick Castle, Fort William and Carnforth station — according to Potter fans' websites. An Eastbourne Borough Council spokesman confirmed that Warner Bros had been scouting around the area. ''They did come here to do a recce, along with several other places in the south of England," he said. "Currently no contract has been signed."

A little more on Nair
This from New Kerala News
As for the much-hyped reports about her being asked to direct the fifth segment of the Harry Potter series, Nair is reluctant to discuss it. Though she doesn't deny the fact that she has been approached, Nair said: "Right now it's too early to talk about it. I don't know how it got out on the websites. I have to sit with them and work out the dates. "Until then I am forbidden from talking about it. Right now I'm fully into 'The Namesake' and looking forward to meeting up with Rani."
Well, it's obvious she doesn't know what she's getting into, by not knowing the resourcefullness of Harry Potter fans. I'm guessing some sites knew about her wanted for the fifth movie before she did.
Though the fourth movie has really only just begun filming a short while back, it appears that WB wishes to push through all the movies quickly. It seems if it takes too long to be made, that the only smart option would be to take the Lord of the Rings way. And film more than one movie at a time. So as to not lose some of the actors as well as time and money.
Here's to hoping WB can keep the main cast perfectly happy and where they are. ;)

Contest time again!!
Veritaserum had created a fabulous contest called their 'Character X Contest'.
What this was, was for anyone and everyone to come up with their best creation for the description/excerpt that Rowling gave behind her 'locked door' at her site a short while back. The description was this:
He looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp.
They've chosen a top ten, and now it's time to vote on which you like the best, and best fits to you. To vote, please be sure to go HERE.
Everyone there's done a marvelous job, and congrats to all. And good luck!

Another HP/actor site
Yup! Add another Harry Potter actor to the growing list of sites BY the actual actors themselves!
The newest, would be that of Devon Murray, who plays Seamus Finnegan .
I've just checked out the site myself, and it seems to have plenty to keep any Murray fan satisfied. If you'd like to check out his site, go to

In the News...
For a little goings on in the U.S. of Harry Potter, we bring you this:
Get ready for a Harry Potter tournament
Tickets and participant badges for the fifth annual Harry Potter Trivia Tournament will be released Oct. 2 at the Vacaville Public Library.
The competition will be 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre and is open to Vacaville students between third- and eighth-grades. Every elementary and middle school in Vacaville and Travis school districts, as well as several local private schools, have been invited to send two competitors and are selecting their participants now.
Badges from any school that chooses not to participate will be rolled over into the pool for general public release.
Organizers expect about 50 badges will be released, in addition to about 400 tickets.
The event is free, but tickets are required for admission. No more than four tickets will be issued to any individual.
Trivia questions are based on all five Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling.
There is also a costume competition for trivia competitors, as well as members of the audience, with prizes for the best. A drawing for Harry Potter-related items and other goods will be held to benefit local literacy programs.
So if any of you lucky people get to witness this, drop us a line and let us know how it went. ;)

Interview with Jamie Waylett
HPANA did an interview with the young Harry Potter star while in New York on holiday.
Do you get to ad-lib at all during the filming?
It's great, you say your opinion and if they like it, they like it. At the end of Chamber of Secrets when you see me stand up, that wasn't in the script. I just didn't know what we were supposed to be filming and got up to join the rest of the cast in clapping and Tom [Felton; Draco Malfoy] pulled me down. Chris was like, "Great Jamie, we'll film that tomorrow!"
And on the film itself?
What has been the most memorable scene that you have acted in thus far?
The upcoming ferret scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire -- it should be good... it will be the best, and it's so funny.
Can you tell us anything about the current filming? What's in, what's out?
Current filming - can't give away too much. The ferret scene, that's one to look out for. The Yule Ball - that scene is in, but I haven't filmed it yet.

Few words from Radcliffe
The site DanielRadcliffe.co.uk just received a thank you letter from Daniel Radcliffe. In which he had the following to say about the filming of The Goblet of Fire:
Filming on Goblet of Fire is going very well. I spent a month in a tank filming the underwater task and I did think I really was going to sprout gills!! It is going to be a spectacular sequence! I have already worked with some of the new actors- Brendan Gleeson and Miranda Richardson and they are all fantastic. As are the actors playing Cedric, Fleur, Cho, and Krum, Robert Pattison, Clemence Poesy, Katie Leung and Stanishlav Ianevski.

Harry Potter and Higher Learning
An article found on Northern Star Online had the following article up.
When Matt Birchler bought his textbooks at the beginning of the semester, he was surprised when he found his English books were from the Harry Potter series. "I had never read any of the books or seen the movies before this class," Birchler, a freshman communications major, said. "If I knew the class was using Harry Potter as a text, I probably would not have taken the class, but having actually read one of the books now, I have to say they're way better than I ever expected." Many students, like Birchler, walked into English 105 skeptical. "I was never interested in Harry Potter before this class began. To me, Harry Potter was always a little kid type of entertainment," Veronica Butts, a freshman public health administration major, said. "But it is actually interesting." Though some may question the books' ability to challenge advanced English students, Angela Schult, a freshman elementary education major, said she believes they are working at a college level. "Just because the books may be an easy read doesn't mean that they cannot benefit us," she said. "We were told at the beginning of the semester that reading anything makes us better writers, whether it's Shakespeare or a copy of the Enquirer." However, not all students think the books are college material. "I feel that Harry Potter is a children's book and should stay a children's book," said Sheila Vance, a freshman political science and Spanish double-major. "I was reading more advanced stuff freshman year in high school." The class' teacher, Karley Adney, believes focusing on these books is useful because it exposes students to popular fiction, which is a type of writing that they may or many not have had the chance to read in a classroom setting. "It is valuable that students are exposed to all genres of writing because then they are able to make their own educated decisions about what constitutes good writing," Adney said. Adney chose the Harry Potter books because the series is packed with themes and issues she says we can all relate to. "There is classicism and racism, and other issues like loss, rejection, popularity, family and acceptance - all of which are issues that we have dealt with and still do deal with on a daily basis," Adney said. The class syllabus includes a reading log, an argumentative paper and summarizing exercises, Adney said. She teaches two sections of the class, and all books used are either from the series itself or deal with analyzing the Harry Potter books. Although the course has many educational goals, some students are looking forward to more than just grammar and writing. "I should say I want to become a better writer [in the class], but really, right now I just want to see what happens next in the Harry Potter story," Birchler said.

The SUNny side of the media
The Sunday Mail had made a statement that J.K. Rowling had written Lockhart from her ex-husband a short while back. Now after a statement from Rowling, stating this was NOT the case; an apology goes out on their behalf. This is what they had to say:
JK ROWLING: AN APOLOGY
ON August 22 we published an article headlined 'JK: My revenge' in which we mistakenly stated that JK Rowling had revealed that she had based her Harry Potter character Gilderoy Lockhart on her ex-husband Jorge Arantes.
Subsequently, we were contacted by Ms Rowling's solicitors and, as a result, we are happy to accept that she made no such revelation and that the character is not based on Mr Arantes in any way. We apologise for any embarrassment caused.
And whoever said you couldn't trust everything you read in the media??

Another Gathering
This one is also in the UK, and is called Collectormania6. It's what it says. A Collectors' show. Mostly it seems to hold interest to Sci-Fi fans, but there are people of all sorts there. Harry Potter wins press award in China with a million copies sold last year
Popular around the global, Harry Potter, the boy wizard from England, had his magic in China as well, selling a total of 1.1 million copies of his new story in 2003.
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" brought a sales of 5.9 million yuan (about 713,000 US dollars) across the country last year, helping its Chinese publisher, the People's Publishing House, get an award from the State Press Authority on Thursday. Since 2000, when the first Harry Potter novel was brought to China, British author J.K. Rowling's stories of the broom-riding wizard have been read by millions of Chinese fans.
More than 10,000 copies of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" were sold on the first day the Chinese version was put on shelves last September, setting a national record for daily sales.
"It is more than a book about magic," said Liu Yushan, director of the People's Publishing House. "The human elements of the story have touched many Chinese readers."
Again congradulations to our beloved author J.K. Rowling, from fans around the world.

CN Tower to host movie-set exhibit
Toronto will be the first city to host the touring exhibit The Secret Life of Sets: Set Decorators at Work. The exhibit will be on display in the CN Tower from Sept. 8 to Jan. 2, 2005.
Organized by and originally housed at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences headquarters in Beverly Hills, Calif., the exhibit celebrates the art of contemporary set decoration. The show contains sets and items created for a range of movies including Spiderman 2, The Cat in the Hat, Down with Love and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Behind-the-scenes displays feature film clips, artwork and photos, as well as interview footage with the set decorators themselves.
Toronto will be the show's only Canadian stop before it travels to Chicago and New York next year. The exhibit aims to complement the Toronto International Film Festival, which open the same day.
