'In the wee early hours of Thursday morning a loud rumbling could be heard in the Kent area of England. At a glance this might have been just a typical motorcycle amidst the rest of the traffic, but if the noise of the engine didnt give it away, the sight of the Giant riding the bike and his spectacled passenger in a sidecar almost certainly would have done - Harry Potter and Hagrid were in town!'
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows exclusive HP4U location report and images.
Dartford Tunnel crossing, Kent, England.
23rd/24th July 2009.
Some serious stunt action, shot remarkably at a good pace was in action recently with Harry and Hagrid escaping Privet Drive on Sirius Blacks old, trustee motorcycle. Scenes were of course from the '7 Potters' chapter, which im sure your all familiar with. With the second filming unit in charge using mobile and static camera's, filming was underway using the Dartford - Thurrock River Crossing tunnel/bridge (Kent - Essex) which is one of Europe's most heavily used crossings. Spanning the Thames between Dartford and Thurrock, the Crossing forms a vital link in the M25, Britain's most important orbital road and is over 2800 metres long.As traffic was temporarily held back (to the annoyance of some truck drivers who as they passed liked to make their feelings heard) the camera's rolled and we managed to get shots of the stunt cars, camera trucks and more importantly the BIKE! with Hagrid and Harry leaving and entering the tunnel. The bulk of the shoot was centered on obtaining wide shots of the pair being chased into the tunnel, Harry, wearing a grey hoodie with stripe down the arm and wand at the ready, Hagrid, in his familiar huge coat and sporting his goggles sped at around 30 mph in real time speed, weaving in and out of traffic with great effect.
Of course all the (which we assume there will be!) flying shots would be taken care of with green screen SFX filming, lets hope so.
For Friday morning action centered on further perspective shots from different camera's, including low level shots from the back of a quad-bike racing through the tunnels just feet away from the pair and further angles to show the oncoming traffic, weaving in and out of trucks and vans, with Hagrid seemingly kicking out at any vehicles which came too close and Harry casting spells to his rear. These were all stunt vehicles as you would expect, as surely the sight of a Giant racing towards Muggle cars would have been enough to scare those already not shocked at the £4.00 it costs to cross the bridge/tunnel in each direction ;-)
Both the stunt doubles sported Harry and Hagrid masks on occasions and looked remarkably like the 'real' Actors, complete with burning scar on Harry!
Close up shots and of course MORE exclusives to come ONLY from HP4U. For now, enjoy the pics!

Little did either boy know, when this photograph was taken, just how immense a phenomenon that Harry Potter would become or how their lives would change forever as they would become household names. Producer, David Heyman took this photograph in March 2000 of two young boys who couldn't possibly have comprehended the great journey they were about to embark on.
David speaks emotively about the history of Harry Potter, Daniel, Rupert and Emma in an interview published in the LA Times.
“I know they all will have great success in whatever they choose to do. Emma is astonishingly bright. She is radiant and relaxed. Dan is extremely focused on his acting, and I have the fortune too to read his poetry and short stories, and there are some major poets who have written the most glowing, supportive things about his work. And Rupert — Rupert is the most natural comedian of the bunch. I think that he is like an old person in a young person’s body. He is a wonderful eccentric, a distinct original.”

"These outstanding box office numbers are another testament to the universal appeal of JK Rowling's stories," said Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, Warner Bros president of international distribution.
"We owe this record-breaking opening to the remarkable fans who have stood by us and who stood in line to be among the first to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," added studio president Alan Horn.

When Comingsoon.net asked about filming HP7 Parts 1 & 2, David Yates explained "We're trying to finish one and start the other, but simply because of availability of actors, we're having to shoot a little bit of Part 2 while we're doing Part 1. I would say we shot about 10% of Part 2 and about 85% of Part 1, so there's a wee bit of checkerboarding but not much, and it's going brilliantly. We've been shooting for five months. We finish shooting next spring, and it's quite a long shoot for both movies, but it feels great. It's looking very different to what we've done before and it feels very contemporary and quite edgy, certainly Part 1, and Part 2 I just want it to be epic. I've never made a film ever that's like Part 2. It's much more of a ride in a sense. It's got huge set pieces and that's what I'm really excited to do". Can't wait to read more? Welcome Rufus ScrimgeourThe newest addition known to the HP cast, is none other than Bill Nighy. Nighy confirmed his role to CBBC Newsround; and was proud to announce "I will be Rufus Scrimgeour, who is the Minister of Magic and he is a very very important man."
Known for his roles in such movies as Valkyrie, Underworld, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Eye of the Needle; this awesome addition to the cast is sure to take the last film up even another notch.;)
Cast & Crew + First Screening

‘Nitwit Blubber Odment and Tweak’
Greetings Wizards, Witches and Muggles!!!
Finally, the wait is almost over for ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ which is releasing all over on July 15th 2009. But a few lucky people have already seen it and can’t have enough of it. That would include me!! It was the ‘Cast and Crew Premiere’ at Leicester Square in London on the magical morning of July 4th. You could feel the magic in the air as you lined up to enter the Odeon…. It was absolutely pleasurable to see the likes of Ginny Weasely (Bonnie Wright), Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch), and rather more importantly Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton). A lot more from the secondary cast of the movie turned up as well like Katie Bell (Georgina Leonidas), Romilda Vane (Anna Shaffer), Pansy Parkinson (Scarlett Byrne), Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) and many more. And then the magic came to life with the screening…
All that I can tell you about the Movie:
The film starts on a note of despair and destruction, mind you, one of the best beginnings of any HP flick by far, but this time it’s darker and if you ask me, all the more better! The Death-eaters look stunning and all-glorified. It’s no more just a kid’s film. It proves to be a classic this time. Brilliant roles played by Tom Felton who shines through in this one in his portrayal of Draco Malfoy, Harry’s all-time adversary; and Michael Gambon as Dumbledore who mentors Harry to reveal the dark secrets. Dark secrets are indeed revealed, but most of the action is taken care by Harry (Daniel Radcliffe). While Hermione (Emma) and Ron (Rupert) have disappointingly small roles, we kept longing that they could have done a bit more. The emotional quotient is taken to a whole new level in this movie as Harry and Ron are shown as finally starting to notice ‘girls’. In particular their romantic entanglements are with Ginny and Lavender respectively. The portrayal of Lavender Brown is by Jessie Cave, who does absolute justice to her role as Ron’s girlfriend, only to make him realize his ‘true love’ in the end!
Among others, Helena Bonham Carter is effortless in playing Bellatrix Lestrange, and proves to be quite crucial throughout the story. Severus Snape is played by Alan Rickman who slides perfectly under his character’s skin yet again, and is the key character in the plot to look out for. A surprise package and a delight to potter fans is the young Tom M. Riddle a.k.a Young Voldemort played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin, nephew of Ralph Fiennes who plays Voldemort himself. Hero does brilliantly and is exactly as could be imagined. The 16 year old Voldemort is played by Frank Dillane. (If you ask me, I would have preferred Christian Coulson for the role, the same actor from the Chamber of Secrets.)
As far as the story is concerned, it does skip out on a lot of the parts from the book- some crucial, some anecdotal, though not totally disappointing. True Potterheads will know what I speak of as they watch the film. I won’t let out more than that!
It was after the screening that all the ecstatic stars came out in the square and were rather more approachable than I would have imagined on any other occasions. Tom Felton was being hugely complimented on his brilliant performance, to which he was generously showing gratitude. All the cast members and the crew looked proud and happy, rightfully (I must say!) on how great the film has turned out to be.
“But as again, I must ask too much of you, as it is for you to judge, fellow potterheads, on how you all face the dark hour that lies ahead…”
On a happier note, July 15th is already a few minutes closer as you read this piece now, ain’t it!
Pip pip!

A fun new interview with Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint aired on Australian talk show Rove Live, and you can see it by clicking here. It is extremely entertaining to watch as Rove seems to have a very special rapport with these two actors. Enjoy!
Only kidding! The August issue of Esquire Magazine shows a very different and mature side to Daniel. We're used to seeing him bruised and bloody after tussling with Voldemort. But Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe cuts a more manly, menacing and moody figure.
Dressed in a crumpled suit and
sporting a bleeding nose and blackened eye, Daniel swings a right-hook for the camera. The Mail Online has a sneeky peek at some of the images from the photo shoot.
