Designer Dresses For The Weasley Wedding!!

The fashions of the Harry Potter films might not have been the talk of the town, until now....

Filming for the two-parter Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is well underway with rumours and snippets of information appearing on almost a daily basis.

The current focus of the excitement seems to be the dresses for a the Weasley wedding, a major event in the first part of the Deathly Hallows. Pictures of Hermione’s dress have been seen already and have caused quite a stir. Debate was sparked by fans posting images and asking for help in finding Hermione’s red dress. After much speculation about whether it was a custom-made dress from the costume department or a Valentino dress Emma was seen wearing in a recent copy of Vogue, news then emerged that Jenny Packham was designing some of the dresses.

Fashion designer Jenny Packham, has confirmed that she will be designing some of the dresses for the new Harry Potter film. It would probably be easier to list the celebrities who Jenny Packham hasn't designed dresses for!!!! Jenny has also worked on Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada and Casino Royale to name a few.

The red dress Hermione wears to the wedding is featured on Jenny’s website, and is a stunning bright chiffon material, very feminine with layers and ruffles. Vogue reported Jenny Packham’s involvement in the Harry Potter film, quoting her as saying: “At the moment we’re designing some dresses for the next Harry Potter film – it’s not always easy as we have to remember that they’re for people playing children, so we have to be swayed by the costume directors rather than our fashion taste, but it’s really exciting to be involved.”
