ROWLING PICKS UP HONOUR
Harry Potter author JK Rowling is set to receive an honorary degree from Edinburgh University.
The author wrote much of her series about the world famous boy wizard while living in the Scottish capital as a single mother.
She also completed a teacher training course at Moray House in Edinburgh in 1996.
The multi-millionaire, who now lives in a Georgian mansion in the city with her husband and two children, was collecting one of the university's highest accolades, the degree of doctor honoris causa.
When her degree was announced in February, she said: "I am delighted and honoured to be receiving an honorary degree from the University of Edinburgh, my adopted home city."
