The Church taking more interest in kids and HP
Family service welcomes Harry Potter Fans at a church in Warwick, for its' monthly family service on Sunday. Hordes of children and one brave adult arrived at St Mary's church dressed in their favourite character from J K Rowling's Harry Potter. Traditional prayers with intermixed with discussions about Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - the third book in the series which will soon be released as a film.
It was an attempt by the church to look at an issue which interests youngsters.
A host of new young members were welcomed to the St Mary's colts choir and they sang Loving Shepherd of Thy Sheep at the service.
Rev Vaughan Roberts said: "Harry Potter appeals to children and adults alike and it's important for the church to meet young people where they are, to show that their interests are not far away from some of the great truths of the Christian faith."
