New Set Report
The London Taxi Tours had this to report:
We know they have filmed Dumbledore’s death and the Quidditch has also been filmed, which might explain why the cranes are now gone. We also know that the Malfoy’s house is under construction.
And the HP site Amortentia, had posted a girl's visit to the Leavesden set (she had won a contest at a news station in Mexico). Below is the English translation:
******
Only two people were the lucky ones, and in Amortentia today we present
you with one of them, it’s Alejandra Castillo, an Administration
student at UNAM, who at 19 years old was able to make one of her dreams
a reality (and we are sure it is the dream of many, as well.)

We leave you with the experience of Ale in London, who with her words
tells us about this marvelous and unforgettable experience with Harry
Potter, and the end you can see the photos that she shared with
Amortentia:

It went very well, magnificent I would say, everything was stupendous,
in spite of the running in airports because first the flight from Mexico
to Paris was delayed, and I had to run a bit from the security point,
but all was well with the arrival, the person from the WB was waiting
on me. According to him, the day was beautiful, but it was windy, and I
was dying of cold.

I arrived at the hotel and they explained everything. The bad thing is
that they did not have my room ready and I was not able to take a bath
or rest for a bit. That afternoon I went out with a friend who lived in
the city. We toured the city and had dinner and I froze, but I would not
miss the opportunity.

At breakfast the next morning I chatted with some girls from Denmark,
and let’s say we fit together well, hee hee. The visit to the set was
fantastic. One time after seeing the movies said, “If only I could be
there” and it happened to me! I promise you that it was not until I
sat I the Great Hall did I believe it all. It was very cool that as we
entered they played music and all.

The girl assigned to us as a guide was very cool, told us stories and
details of the movies, toured us through the hallways, the Gryffindor
Common room, the dorm rooms (Ha, I ran to Harry’s bed), the
Burrow—which is truly leaning—the Dumbledore’s office, where
there is already his portrait, because the told us they had already
filmed the death this week. They also had small train cars for scenes
from the Express.

Also we visited the department of creatures. It surprised me to see the
detail with which they make everything—to put in each hair, I never
would have imagined it.

I loved getting to know the animals and how they are trained. Fang is
adorable and I wanted to pack him up to take him home with me to Mexico.
Also we met Crookshanks and the owl that is Hedwig. I didn’t know it
was possible to train a bird, but the owls are beautiful.

In makeup we were able to get a scar or a Dark Mark. I wanted both but
I only had time for the Mark. When I went for my scar we had to go. They
did one girl’s hair like Hermione’s.

They also showed us some special effects, like Rita Skeeter’s quill,
the door of the vault where they found the Philosopher’s Stone, the
cauldron and the floating candles.

The food was very good—in the Great Hall—never did I imagine eating
there, but it is something I will never forget, and they entertained us
with magic acts, stupendous!

I finished with tired legs, but I would have walked another two hours
to know and be able to stay there. It was a unique opportunity.

And to close with a clasp of gold, we met Matthew Lewis and Katie Leung
who were really super cool—very nice and allowed us to ask questions.
It was very nice to be able to hang out with them. It clearly would have
been magnificent to hang out with the three main characters, but I
imagine it would have been quite a disturbance.

That night I had dinner with the two girls from Denmark, Sabrina and
Helle, and I had a good time with them. After, we three went out with my
friend who took us to Platform 9 ¾, we went for coffee and then went
back to the hotel because we had to leave very early the next morning.

The trip back was fine in general. The flight to Paris was delayed and
I had to run to the connection to Mexico because there were only two
working X-ray machines, but that was fine. I arrived dead. I did not
have classes the next day and I was able to sleep until the afternoon,
but it was 100% worth the pain, and I would go back with out a doubt.
Last month, Mexican news station First News sent out a request from the
WB to all Mexican Harry Potter Fans to be able to visit Leavesden
Studios in London, where all the movies have been filmed, from the first
to Half-Blood Prince which they are currently filming.
