J.K. Rowling one of Scotland's most influential Women

According to an article in the
Evening Times, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is one of five women nominated for the NCH (National Children’s Home) Scotland Women of Influence award. These awards recognize those who have worked hard to improve the lifestyles and education of children, and nominated along with Rowling are Olympic silver medalist Liz McColgan, Scottish Youth Theatre chief Mary McCluskey, Catherine Lockerbie, director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, and Professor Christine Hallet, whose pioneering child protection work has helped shape social policy.

The award ceremony will be held on Sunday March 11th at Barony Hall in Glasgow, Scotland.
