Don't Cry for Me Diagon Alley...
Andrew Lloyd Webber, the musical genius behind mega hits such as Evita, Phantom of the Opera and Cats, wanted to create a whole new 'magical' stage production: "Harry Potter, the musical." However, when Webber looked into the rights to produce the show, he found out that Warner Bros. already owned the stage rights, making it impossible for him to realize his dream.
"I really wanted to stage a musical about Harry Potter. I thought the books were superb but when I made moves about a musical I was told that Warner Bros had already snapped up the rights." Webber said in an interview.
Oh well... One can always hope!
