USA Today featuring Daniel
Well, it seems USA Today had a little chat with our favorite wizard, Daniel Radcliffe. What was discussed was the shooting for the 'underwater' scene and the Christmas card he's sending out to his fans.
This week, in our peek at the entertainment crystal ball: Take a peek at Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe's underwater Christmas card.
Harry Potter goes into the briney deep in the fourth film, now filming around London. Well, he scuba-dives in an underwater tank, to be exact, in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, due in November
Daniel Radcliffe, the 15-year-old Brit who plays the bespectacled wizard, fashioned a Christmas card featuring a photo of himself and crewmembers — 20 feet below.
"We had to share oxygen tanks and get everyone positioned very quickly," he says. "Then, with a friend, I added Christmas-type additions and felt ultimately that antlers and red noses worked best."
The underwater scenes made him a scuba fan. "I would love to try it again, but perhaps in a more exotic location than a tank at Leavesden Studios."
Radcliffe began training for the underwater scenes in November 2003 while shooting The Prisoner of Azkaban. "I have never taken direction at the bottom of a tank. It was very interesting listening to the director (Mike Newell) and then responding to him with signs and signals."
