Accio 2005!!
The first Harry Potter conference in the Uk is finally set to take place! It is scheduled to take place July 29-31, 2005.
Call for Papers
Accio UK is aimed at both academics and adult fans of the Harry Potter series. The Programming Committee is therefore inviting proposals from both sectors for presentations, moderated panels, debates and workshops on any topic relating to the Harry Potter phenomenon.
Their homepage has this to say on it:
We are pleased to announce that Accio 2005 will take place over the weekend of 29-31st July 2005 at the University of Reading, UK, and we are now open for registration.
Accio 2005 will be a friendly event, bringing together academics and adult Harry Potter fans to discuss all aspects of J.K.Rowlings' Harry Potter books, in the first such conference in the UK. Planned events include presentations, panels, speeches, games, a feast, and informal discussions into the small hours. All residential memberships will include all meals for the event, and non-residential membership will include everything apart from bed and breakfast.
Registration ranges in price from 140 to 215, and there's an early bird discount if you register before Halloween!
